Each year, the Port hires participating students from the EXP Internship Program, a two- to six-week summer internship for Southern California high school students. MOBI interns conduct policy research, analyze data, research and develop metrics, explore new mapping tools, develop and write white papers and reports, create presentations, carry out administrative duties, and volunteer at events.

The team oversees core annual functions of the government such as performance management and fiscal oversight. The Office of Procurement highlights the importance of citywide strategic procurement and will become a centralized office for procurement policy, data, and process improvement.
