Pediatric fellowship program

The training is complemented by opportunities to build other skills necessary for academic success. The graduates of the fellowship program are envisioned as future academicians in the field of Adolescent Medicine.

The program provides a balance of clinical experience, teaching and clinical research. Our graduates go on to academic careers, private practice, and work in biopharmaceutical industry. The Stanford Clinical Biochemical Genetics Fellowship Program's mission is to develop individuals with the technical and medical knowledge and leadership skills necessary to provide services that meet the constantly evolving needs of children and adults in the 21st century, and to train the next generation of laboratory scientists in Biochemical Genetics.

The CI Fellowship program is excited to contribute to Stanford's long tradition of leadership in clinical informatics, which dates to the founding of the biomedical informatics graduate training program in Training in CI at Stanford affords fellows diverse applied clinical informatics experiences across Stanford Medicine, in various local health systems, and in industry. The combined Pediatrics-Medical Genetics program is a four-year program that combines educational opportunities in both Pediatrics and Medical Genetics and prepares the trainee to be board certified in both Pediatrics and Clinical Genetics.

Our program has two positions each year. Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics. We are able to accept one resident to this program per year. The fellowship program seeks to attract physicans of diverse backgrounds and experience interested in pursuing careers in medical biochemical genetics.

Residents in the program benefit from a unique educational environment. Residents also rotate through the clinical genetics laboratories at the Stanford Medical Center for experience in biochemical genetics, cytogenetics and molecular genetics.

A variety of clinical and basic science research opportunities are available to trainees within the Division of Medical Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics and in the wider Stanford University School of Medicine community. The residency program seeks to attract physicans of diverse backgrounds and experience interested in pursuing careers in medical genetics. The residency is open to physicians who have completed at least one year of residency training in another ACGME accredited primary specialty in the United States or equivalent training in Canada.

We believe that individuals who wish to train as neonatologists should value creativity, scholarship, clinical acumen, disruption of barriers, discovery of novel interventions, and service to the well-being of humanity.

The subspecialty training program is a three-year program, integrating clinical care, teaching and research experience at all levels. The program is continuously reviewed and revised to reflect changes that occur in the field of pediatric cardiology. As the general goal of our training program is to prepare fellows for a career in an academic environment, fellows will find themselves being exposed during any given week or month to basic science, clinical research, and clinical care, as they will be for the rest of their career.

It is the philosophy of our program that fellows should develop the habit of integrating their clinical and investigative lives from the first day of their cardiology training. The Division of Pediatric Cardiology has made available several funded fourth year fellowship positions for the purpose of pursuing advanced training in pediatric cardiology sub-specialties.

Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Our program aims to train each fellow to provide exceptional care of critically ill children, become proficient medical educators and develop discovery-based careers in academic medicine. We offer a 2-year training program for eligible applicants who have completed scholarly activity in a prior ACGME-accredited subspecialty program.

Each fellow completes one year of clinical training and two years of either basic science, clinical or translational research and participates in grant writing and a quality improvement project.

Clinical training is performed both on Stanford campus at the Mary L. The goal of the subspecialty fellowship is to train physicians to achieve excellence in the practice of clinical pediatric gastroenterology, scholarly basic science and clinical research, and medical education. The goals of this program are achieved over the course of three years of training. GI fellows accept graduated responsibility in the clinical management of children with gastrointestinal, hepatic and nutritional disorders under the direct supervision of a board certified pediatric gastroenterologist while rotating through the gastroenterology inpatient service and the liver transplant inpatient service.

This responsibility includes patient care, parent conferences, consultations with other subspecialties, night and weekend call, and interfacing with the many services that interact with pediatric gastroenterology, nutrition, and liver transplant. Our fellowship program provides rigorous training in research and clinical care. Clinical work includes rotations in the fields of pediatric hematology, oncology, and stem cell transplantation, and fellows may select research projects from any of these areas.

The goal of the Duke Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship program is to train future leaders who will provide expert, compassionate care for patients with congenital and acquired heart disease, as well as advance the field through a lifetime of thoughtful inquisition and research. Fellows train directly under a diverse faculty with a great depth of experience.

The aim of the PCCM fellowship program is to develop the next generation of academic leaders in the field of pediatric critical care medicine by training fellows to provide excellent care of critically ill pediatric patients, create new knowledge that can inform future practice, be effective and enthusiastic teachers, and serve as consultants to physicians in the community. The Duke Pediatric Endocrinology fellowship clinical experience is broad-based and highly supervised.

Emphasis is placed upon the fundamentals of clinical diagnosis, including taking a clinical history, physical examination, interpretation of laboratory tests, and the proper approach to hormonal therapy and counseling.
