Katherine or catherine game

As far as looks are concerned, I'm usually a sucker for dark hair, but I think Catherine is more attractive, or at the least, Katherine in much less attractive. My opinion completely disregards the fact that Catherine appears as thought she's going to be nothing but trouble, something I'd go far out of my way to avoid in an actual relationship. Catherine, I like Sawashiro Miyuki a lot and something about Katherine's way of talking is odd to me. That said, if I were in Vincent's shoes?

Probably Katherine, cause well Catherine looks like the kinda girl who'd wear your oversized band shirts the morning after. I could get down with that. My tastes are odd. Catherine falls in that bracket i dont not like, i like inexperienced and very young 18 and i like experienced with intelligence That 20's era when women think they're being the big adult by going around whoring themselves out I DO NOT like.

Catherine for me, at least for now. I'd like to see what their personalities are like although judging from the demo, Katherine seems like kind of a cranky woman. I'm kinda surprised more people are saying Katherine, but that was my pick as well Assuming I play the game, which I'm still not sold on, I'm waiting until I see some of it in English.

Katherine is a lot hotter to me, which is a great complement due to my nearly asexual sort of being, which means I rarely find anyone to be even remotely attractive. Plus, Catherine is a skank. I'd personally go with Katherine over Catherine. She and Vincent don't live together for unknown reasons possibly because of their workplace commutes , although she occasionally visits him to see how he is doing and drop off snacks. Asides from the main Golden Playhouse storyline, Katherine is a playable character in Babel , where she and Vincent must work together to ascend its stages.

Katherine is implied to be of Scottish or Irish descent due to her surname with slightly sharp facial features, waist-length beige-blonde hair, brown eyes, thick black-rimmed glasses which are rimless at the top and she also wears blue nail polish with violet eyeshadow. She wears a black turtleneck sweater with vertical blue lines on the lower half, which is rolled up to show a bit of her forearms, black pants, a blue jeweled accessory around her waist, and black high heels.

Unlike Catherine and Rin , Katherine is the only love interest to dress conservatively, shows minimal skin and wears pants over a skirt, possibly stemming from her high school days where guys would leer at her. Katherine has a by-the-book Type A personality: She is intelligent, mature, assertive, dominant, responsible, and goal-oriented. While generally serious, she is not without a sense of humor at times. Katherine is always straight-forward and doesn't appreciate between-the-lines insinuations or passive-aggressive accusations, both of which Vincent is guilty of.

She has zero tolerance for anything she finds immature and mean-spirited. Katherine is a bit of a workaholic who puts her career above almost everything else. She chides Vincent when he admits to working severe overtime with no extra pay, angry at her boyfriend for being taken advantage of it and not taking a stand for himself. She never tells Vincent to relax when it comes to work and accepts work as a valid excuse if he misses time with her. It also can be inferred that Katherine enjoys fashion, given she puts the effort into painting her nails and wears eyeshadow.

She works at a clothing company and seems to go on a shopping spree in one of the endings, although it could be argued her working at a clothing company doesn't necessarily means she likes clothing and that the boxes in her ending may not be clothes either. At times, Katherine can seem overbearing, naggy and bossy with a domineering attitude towards Vincent.

For example, she is trying to pressure him into marriage, which he isn't comfortable with. Katherine proves that if someone can't be trusted to do something right, she will take care of it for them. The clearest example of this is when she vows to takes full control of her and Vincent's finances after she discovers that he consistently spends all of his money on new computers, cell phones, alcohol and cigarettes. Another example is that she hates his messy apartment room , one of her texts revealing she has a set of spare keys to the apartment and cleaned it for him at least once Vincent may condone this or reply "Don't touch my stuff.

Katherine isn't shown to be the affectionate type, though whether this is a result of their recent relationship troubles or because of her natural personality is unknown. At most times she leaves him with a simple "Goodbye" and the only time she kisses Vincent or tells him she loves him is during the Katherine True Ending. However, Katherine frequently texts Vincent to let him know what's new and her feelings.

She also doesn't like Vincent's drinking and smoking habits, once sending a text saying Vincent shouldn't drink too much and smugly smiling when she says Vincent should stop smoking since it won't be good for the child. From all this, it can be deduced that Katherine cares and loves Vincent in her own way. The only things in the game shown to rattle Katherine are when she murders Catherine though it happens in a dream , and when she is effectively dealing with the possibility of being pregnant completely alone as her boyfriend is off in his own world.

She also gets emotional and tears up when breaking up with Vincent though she eventually leaves apparently calm, and later when he asks for forgiveness after their friends support that Catherine wasn't real. Despite her cautious and responsible personality, Katherine apparently overlooks unprotected sex with Vincent, eventually thinking she may be pregnant.

However, this is likely intentional by Katherine, hinting that she wants to become pregnant so that when she has a child, Vincent won't leave her and commit to marriage. Even though her fidelity was called into question with Steve Delhomme , Katherine has only made one lie of omission in the game: not telling Vincent immediately when she knew she wasn't pregnant.

While clues have been left that Katherine might have been lying about the pregnancy as a test for Vincent to pass, her reaction during the break up with him paints a clearer picture. She tells him that the knowledge of the pregnancy actually scared her and admits to him she knew about the news earlier, but didn't tell him because she feared he would leave her.

She feels guilty about this and realizes she was not being honest with Vincent, and how she was being manipulative by trying to "trap" Vincent with a child. Her moral conscience arises when she decides to tell Vincent this truth. In an interview, her voice actress Michelle Ruff said Katherine is very vulnerable, yet strong and courageous, saying she stands up for herself and what she believes is best for her.

I really relied on my own experiences to put myself in her shoes. I think you'll find when you listen to her, she's really close to my own natural voice. I really tried to be as vulnerable as I could in that booth when we were recording. She has dreams and emotions and feelings that make her special and unique. She really wants Vincent to see her for that and love her for her uniqueness. She is the strong one in their relationship and I think she is really hoping that Vincent will step up and finally be the strong one.

Her relationship with Vincent was initially antagonistic, as the boys would often steal and eat her lunch. Though it upset her, she began giving Vincent her snacks, indicating that she had a crush on him. They became more friendly with each other in high school, where Katherine was a cheerleader. The two met again during their year high school reunion. In between action stages, on Landings , Vincent can interact with the other surviving sheep, save his game, learn techniques from the sheep on how to survive the climbing levels, or spend Enigma Coins on special items.

By sharing this information on how to survive, they band together to give each other enough hope to continue through the trials. Throughout the game, the choices the player makes during certain sections of the game will affect the development of Vincent's character and the route the story takes place. This is represented by a meter of Freedom and Order, which can change in several ways depending on certain factors. These factors include how Vincent types out a text message to Catherine or Katherine, how he answers certain questions, how he converses with non-playable characters, and how Vincent answers the confessionals.

The game features multiple endings based on the route Vincent takes. The soundtrack consists of 34 tracks, and is composed by Shoji Meguro, best known for his work in the Shin Megami Tensei series; specifically, Persona. These are not a subset of tracks from the full soundtrack, but remixed classical songs set to fit the world of Catherine. Most tracks are the background music to the various Nightmare Stages of the game. The North American versions lack Japanese audio, and all animation is lip-synched to the English dub.

In the PS3 version, if the English version of the game is installed while the system is set in a language other than English ex: French , the trophies for the game will be displayed in Japanese.

There is currently no way to undo this action once the trophies are earned. Catherine has become infamous for its intense difficulty, with many Japanese gamers claiming it was impossible even on the easiest difficulty setting. The limited continues, short time limit and punishing AI were among the chief complaints.

Atlus released a Japanese patch that included a new "Super Easy" difficulty along with tweaks to make the game easier for players. This included granting more retries per pillow , and adding a drink Vincent can use to skip multiple sections of blocks. The English version already includes the Japanese "Super Easy" patch, as well as a much more balanced and extensive difficulty overhaul that was not possible to do in a patch.

Hard mode, however, has been untouched. Catherine received mostly positive reviews from critics, with average aggregate scores of IGN gave Catherine an overall score of 9. The game was generally praised for its art design, style, soundtrack, story, themes, and even English voice acting.

A review by SuperButterBuns praised the game for being innovative and "weird in the best way possible". The game received some flack for its often hard difficulty. Some players were attracted to the game, but did not enjoy the puzzle gameplay, eventually leading to a easier difficulty options as well as the ability to skip the puzzles entirely in Full Body.

The game also received some criticism for its LGBT representation regarding Erica, as it's seen by some as "problematic". Catherine Wiki Explore. Explore Wikis Community Central.
